    The curriculum of the Pre-Ballet Division is designed to be a bridge between the content and feel of Young Children’s Division and the more traditional classical ballet format of the Elementary Division. We introduce more ballet components as we progress from 6 to 7-year-old classes and gently prepare students for Level 1

    Maddie Serano Ages 5 to 10

    Jazz class includes warm up and stretching, progressions across the floor and dance combinations to upbeat music. Dancers are taught to execute movements with correct technique, exciting performance quality, and are encouraged to develop their own unique style. As with all dance styles, dancers can expect to learn both the classical jazz steps of Broadway and the modernized combination of street-jazz, jazz-funk, and contemporary movements seen on So You Think You Can Dance and World of Dance!

    This high energy class will focus on theatrical performance while promoting self-expression, performance quality, and proper technique. Dancers will learn to tell a story combining acting, music and theater jazz dance. Classes will consist of a basic warm up, improv techniques, becoming familiar with show tunes, dance combinations, progressions, and performance preparation. So, if you’re Broadway Bound this is a “must do” class!

    This class introduces your young dancer to safe stretching techniques and practical exercises to increase overall flexibility and strength. The emphasis is on building proper technique with precise body form and movement developing flexibility and strengthening in the legs, feet, and body core.

    Ballet is the foundation of all dance forms. We are committed to providing true classical ballet training to all students. From beginner to advanced, all students are formally trained with proper technique. Ballet improves dancer’s strength, balance, control and flexibility while simultaneously increasing students focus, discipline, and grace. Prerequisite: Ballet 1

    A fun introduction to the foundational steps of ballet – through follow-along combinations. Practice posture, beginning ballet terminology, & techniques. Focus on student introductions & classroom behavior. Dancers will be introduced to creative movement through choreography & improvisation. They can also expect to enhance their learning with several games, props, & art activities.

    The tap program at Aspire is offered to students of all ages and levels and encourages expression through sound. Each class concentrates on teaching proper technique, musicality, and performance quality. Tap dance increases students’ musical awareness, as well as rhythm. Dancers can expect to learn both classic and modern steps and combinations. Tap is offered as part of our combination classes and individually for more advanced students.

    Pointe classes are designed for students with previous ballet training. Students will utilize previously learned ballet technique while working in pointe shoes. Each class includes barre exercises, center floor work and across the floor combinations. These exercises focus on strengthening the feet and ankles. Dancers must have instructor approval for this class and must be enrolled in an additional ballet class along with pointe classes.

    This class will help dancers increase their endurance, strength, and flexibility. It is designed to exercise and tone a young dancers body with a fusion of ballet, barre, light weights, resistance apparatuses, and core work all in one 60 minute session.
